The Key to Explosive Spiritual Growth

One day, it just clicked. For years I wallowed in misery, sort of like when you keep walking to the pantry or the refrigerator but aren’t sure of what you really want. There’s just something inside of you that you crave, but you can’t put a finger on it. Ever been there? It’s when we hunger to learn that we are discovering the boundaries to expand, unlike when we eat when we aren’t really hungry and our waists expand. Learning and the desire to learn are important to continual growth as a person, to excel in the workplace, and the one thing that can set you apart from the pack. But, learning, while important, can be toxic to our well-being if we aren’t learning the “right” stuff.

For the majority of Americans, we are overwhelmed with a flood of constant information, media, and just plain old noise. We have so much going on that our ears are closed to knowledge in general, especially to learning from the Word of God. With the exception of a remnant, most are too busy to commit to learning. It’s the way our society has taught us to live. But what would happen if we planned our days in a way that allotted time to spend to study the Bible, not just to check off another “to-do” item? Today, I am challenging you to ask for a hunger to learn His word, to discover who He really is, the “I AM”, not who He has been packaged to be, but His nature. If you want to leave more than a legacy, that’s where it begins; a hunger for His word, and a longing for His presence. Will you ask that soul-shaking prayer of the Father today?

Lord, stir a hunger for You and Your Word in our souls that surpasses any other desire that exists! -Amen

Intelligent people are always ready to learn.
Their ears are open for knowledge.
