Why Are You Mad at Me?
If you think back, at some point, we’ve all done something stupid that we were warned not to do in the first place. No need in listing experience here, but I have done my fair share of stupid things. Most of the time, the “wiser” one of the group would say, “I told you so.” Imagine if I got mad at my parents or sitters when I was a child, because I did something they told me not to do and ended up getting hurt. Sort of foolish if you ask me. There’s been times when my own children did something against my instruction and it came with consequences. Or, think about the folks who continuously break the law across this country and get mad at law enforcement when they are arrested.
Doesn’t make a lot of sense, does it? We are eager to accept the price tag of success and rewards, but when we are stuck with the price tag of consequence, we want to blame someone else. Why do we get mad at God, and I say “we” in a very general, broad term, when, because of our own foolishness, are facing consequences? If we’re going to be mad at anyone, we should be mad at ourselves for making terrible decisions. God didn’t cause us to go into debt, He didn’t cause us to do the things we’ve done, but by His mercy and grace, we make it through the consequences of bad decisions. There comes a time when we have to see that, blaming isn’t profitable, rather we should seek, with humility, His mercy & grace to sustain and fuel us through the difficult times. He’s not One to abandon His own, but it doesn’t mean we won’t have to taste the bitter pill of consequence and regret. Just a thought from perspective, and unfortunately, experience. Have a wonderful day my friends!
People ruin their lives by their own foolishness
and then are angry at the Lord.Proverbs 19:3 NLT
