Worship Where You Are
The mighty Mississippi River flows as a result of many little streams; a powerful force carrying many goods and barges to be distributed through the country. It was not created overnight. It cannot be stopped and if it floods, it is catastrophic. This mighty river doesn’t flow on specific days, or specific times, it is continuous. What comfort we have in knowing the Spirit of God is available to us continuously, much like the presence of that mighty Mississippi River. For so long, I thought our worship was an action in church on Sunday or during mid-week services. The power of God was unleashed in my life when I realized He desired my worship continuously, like His presence dwells with us, like that river flows.
Today, with whatever you do, worship. If you are busting up concrete as a plumber, let every slam of that hammer glorify His name. If you are a salesman, let every lead be a way to honor the Father. If you are a doctor, a lawyer, a store clerk, a stay-at-home parent or spouse, whatever you do, wherever you are, use what you have where you are to worship the Father and invite Him into your life in a deeper, more powerful way. As I write this, with every keystroke, with every letter, I do it in worship of the Father, to glorify Him. So, what will you be doing today? Where will you be? In your heart, in your actions, in your thoughts, in your words, glorify the Father and let our lives be a continuous flow of worship into the portals of eternity. Pierce the heavens with your worship, in song, in prayer, in living. Whatever you have, wherever you are, today, worship where you are!
Heavenly Father, Wash me with the precious blood of Your Son, Jesus, cleanse my hands and my heart. Forgive me of my sins so I can come before You in worship in all I do today, to honor You, to glorify You, to worship and love You. I give you my day. -Amen
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
