The Ever-Increasing Gift of Faith

Those who believe in the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, want to know what is pleasing to God. The world knows them as Christians, or Believers, Followers of Christ. For us to grow in Christ we must first accept His gift of salvation through faith. Here’s the deal; there’s a lot of different Christian doctrines and many spend much time debating the differences found in these doctrines. But, while there are some that are confusing, our focus should be on loving God through seeking His through His Word. When we study His word earnestly and consistently, we learn what is pleasing to Him beyond the basis of simply knowing the “Ten Commandments.” We begin to see and know the nature, the character of God. But knowing, believing, and accepting the love of God is only the first step. Growing in our faith in Christ is a lifelong journey.

As we yield ourselves to God as Believers and learn more of what is pleasing to Him, He increases our faith. No man (or woman) gives faith, faith is given alone by God (for more information on this, study the original Greek word, “Faith” originates from). Through these devotions, my goal is to help those who read them to learn more about the Word of God and study it for themselves. Our faith is a gift from God, to each of us has been given a measure. We exercise our faith when we yield to God, study His word, seek His ways for our lives through prayer, and demonstrate love to those around us. Today, I hope we can discover the deep power of His love; that is, to learn His nature, His love, deepen and grow our faith, and love others as Christ. This is not an abdonition to try to match the gift of Salvation with works, this is simply a challenge to dig deeper into the Word of God and discover what He is saying to us all. Revival begins in our hearts, begins in our homes, in our individual lives, and then goes out to the rest of the world. Today, love is a path to victory through our faith, only through Christ.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the measure of faith You have given to me. As I study Your Word, worship You daily, and totally yield myself to You, I ask You to grow my faith in You. -Amen

Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
