Life Through the Lens of Eternity
When we reach the end of our lives, we will either face eternity with regret, or great celebration. For those who face the end of their lives with regret, it’s too late to make changes. For those facing eternity with cause to celebrate, the party is just getting started. But, what if we could make changes this moment that have a profoundly positive impact on the remainder of our lives, the lives of others, not only the here and now, but for eternity? Make the most of every opportunity given, for this is the great mystery: How will we respond to God’s call when He wants an account for our stewardship of the talent of time He’s given us? Now is the time to make changes necessary in order to draw closer to Him.
Will you waste your time here in life on foolish things, on folly, by holding onto worry, fear, doubt, and anxiety? Or, will you choose to open your hands and release those things to the Father, commit your time to Him, and honor Him with every breath? It’s your decision. But, His love requires a response from you and I. That response should be a wholehearted, relentless pursuit of God, unwavering, undaunted, undeterred. Life is short. Eternity is not. Make decisions today, in a life that is but a vapor, that will have a ripple effect throughout all eternity, and honor the King of kings. What does the Lord want you to do? Start with obedience to His Word, pursue holiness through relationship with the Father, and cut the fat that holds you back!
Heavenly Father, Thank You for every breath, every moment, every day in life. Today, I give you my time, my heart, my plans, and I ask You to guide my steps, words, and actions. May my life today have a holy ripple effect through eternity. -Amen
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
