Understanding the Urgent Need
We can sit in church on Sunday and allow our emotions to deceive us into believing we are truly accomplishing something great. But, if the confines of the church’s four walls is the extent of our worship, we are in big trouble. For many decades, we have experienced a continual decomposing of the American church. We aren’t growing stronger, we are growing weaker. Somewhere along the way, we placed programs, platforms, personal agendas, and our denomination’s doctrinal differences to divide, destroy, and erode the church in America. This is a call back to the altar.
If we continue on the path we are on at the present, the church in American 20 years from now will be hardly recognizable. If you don’t believe me, look at where the church here was two decades ago, the hunger of the people then, and compare it to now. Never before have we been positioned for a stirring and revival of the hearts of men and women. Do we have differences across various Christian denominations? Absolutely. But, the one banner we must unite under is the name of Jesus Christ. The fact He alone paid the ultimate price for our salvation, He lives, and we are empowered to be victorious in this world. What does it mean to act religious and be powerless? You won’t have to look far in America, in your community, to find a place that wallows in this place of misery. The only hope is that we abandon our personal differences, crush our selfish pride, forgive our neighbors, and get back to the basics of our faith! Do not reject the power that is in the Word of God! That Power alone can revolutionize our nation! This is a call for all of us to unite under the name of Jesus and work together to bring America back from the brink through prayer.
Heavenly Father, Thank You for second chances. Thank You for mercy. Thank You for giving me wisdom, discernment, and direction in these perilous times. Move my heart with the things that move Yours, help me be a ray of Your light in a dark world. -Amen
(1) You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. (2) For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. (3) They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. (4) They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. (5) They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
