Where Is Your Focus?
We begin this new year with great hope, anticipation, and optimism for the good things that are to come. 2018 is going to be a spectacular year, but only on one condition. If today we choose to surrender our 2018 to the Master, to give it all to Him and focus on pursuing Christ, we can be assured that our goals, plans, and dreams will come true. Nothing comes without our mixing of faith and action, but it all begins with obedience to the Father. So today, I ask you, where are your eyes focused this first day of this new year?
Quite possibly the most important thing any of us can do today is to ensure our focus is set, our sites are properly aligned on the bullseye, and establish our feet in the path God has for each of us. Everyone is talking resolutions, but many lack focus, vision, and mission, and that is why over 80% of those resolutions will be forgotten in less than thirty days. We are not looking back, the past is gone. We are looking forward with focus, clarity, and faith in Christ knowing each day is His. We will not only begin 2018 well, but we will finish this year better, stronger, and with our flags of victory planted in the soil of our territory. Where’s your focus today?
Heavenly Father, I give You my hopes, dreams, plans, and goals for 2018. I surrender it all to You and place my focus and intent solely on You. Direct my steps, Father. Direct my path, hide me under the shadow of Your wings and grant me Your wisdom every day. This is Your year to do what You will with my life. -Amen
No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
